→ Talk to your client about timing: “We know warmer tones can fade prematurely; so even with a more simplified service, I consult with my guest and discuss factors like longevity, home-care, the timeline of their toner, etc. If their special event or holiday is within days of the service, try to formulate exactly to their inspiration or discussed tone. If they need the shade to last a little longer, I ask if they are okay with going a little deeper initially, as it will fade up over the next few washes, landing them at their perfect tone.”
→ Don’t forget the fill: “If hair is at least two levels lighter than the desired tone, and you want to have a warm copper that lasts and really pops, don’t forget to fill in the hair first.”
