Featuring Joico Celebrity Artist, Frederic Aspiras
Lady Gaga’s recent five-act jazz and piano show in Vegas was a decided nod to vintage Hollywood crooners. But it was just as much a nod to the defining styles of the 50’s and 60’s, explains her personal hairstylist and Joico Celebrity Artist, Frederic Aspiras, who masterminded the short, flipped bob Gaga debuted at the show. “The glitz of the strip lured a star-studded culture of headliners. And this hairstyle defined the decade just as much as the Rat Pack defined Las Vegas show life.”

The featured look, and how to recreate it…
Belting out jazzified versions of her biggest hits, along with big-band classics, Gaga’s hair was right in tune. Here, the step-by-steps straight from Frederic himself:
1. “To really make blonde hair pop and look fresh, I always use Blonde Life Brightening Shampoo followed with Blonde Life Brightening Masque, which I leave on for five minutes.”

2. Rinse, and blot dry with a towel.
3. Prep hair with Joico K-Pak Color Therapy Luster Lock Multi- Perfector Spray, and comb through any tangles.

4. Apply Joico Power Whip Whipped Foam from roots to ends to provide volume and hold. Then, add a few pumps of Blowout Perfecting Crème for heat protection.

5. Continue with heat styling to create a flip to the ends of hair.
6. Finish the look using JoiGel Firm to create face-framing pin curls. “Some of the costumes needed the hair to disappear, but still have a silhouette,” explains Frederic, who added the “spit curls” at the forehead and cheek to create some style even when Gaga’s hair was pulled back.

7. Spray Joico Power Spray Fast-Dry Finishing Spray for an overall hold and shine.
