Mai’s pro tips…
Lift your client to a level 9.5 – past the target level -- so you’re not fighting too much warmth.
Allow negative space so the blonde pieces pop.
Always balance the PH on the hair before toning.
Apply shadow root first; let it process for 5 - 7 minutes, then go in with your mid-to-ends formula.
Don’t be afraid to brush the hair from roots to ends once you’ve applied color. This allows for a more seamless blend where toners meet.
Always blow-dry the front pieces first and let your client see the color. If it needs to be adjusted, this is the time to do it.
