Look #1: Effortless Waves
There’s something truly alluring about hair that’s glamorously polished and feminine, yet not pinned to within an inch of its life. The style is sophisticated, but doesn’t look like you’re trying too hard.

The goal: Effortless waves with lots of volume, pulled back perfectly with a gorgeous side-swept faux bang.
Do this: Prep the hair with Joico’s Dream Blowout Heat Protectant. Blow-dry hair focusing on volume; then curl hair away from the face using a 1 ½-inch-barrel iron. At the crown, softly tease the hair, and apply Flip Turn Volumizing Hairspray to lock volume in place. To finish, take a small section of hair near the face and pin it back behind the ear for that perfect faux side-swept bang. For blondes, apply a bit of Joico Blonde Life Brilliant Glow Brightening Oil for a high shine, bright blonde.
Now, the makeup: Skip the contour, the harsh liner, and the mega lashes, and go for natural/soft, but still glamorous. A toned-down smoky eye (try it with grey or brown shadow, rather than black), paired with a nude lip would be perfection.

Look #2: The Knotted Updo
Classic red-carpet updos came back with a vengeance at this year’s Awards shows, but with a twist that makes them unique…and uniquely easy. In lieu of standard chignons, the look gets its cool from simply knotting the hair.

The goal: Rather than fiddle with complicated braiding, save time and try this neat “knotted” maneuver.
Do this: Prep the hair with Joico’s Weekend Hair Dry Shampoo to add texture. Start around her hairline, and take two decently sized sections, tying them in a knot. Then, include two more sections (just as you would pull more hair into a French braid), and tie another knot. Continue this until you reach the crown area of the head. Next, focus attention on the nape area, and join with the hair at the crown, twisting the nape and the crown hair together to form a small bun. Finish the look with a quick spritz of JoiMist Styling and Finishing Spray.
Now, the makeup: Go for a soft edginess that can stand up to this intricate hair. Bold, winged liner and a dark-red lip make an utterly sophisticated statement; but are relatively quick moves in the makeup department.
Look #3: Sleek and Straight
When serious glam is on the calendar, the instinct is often to reach for a curling iron or fashion an updo. But sometimes it’s cool to throw a style curveball and do exactly the opposite – create hair that’s super sleek rather than complex.

The goal: Parted down the center and perfectly frizz-free hair that shines with elegance.
Do this: Prep damp, freshly-shampooed hair with Defy Damage Protective Shield and blow-dry section by section to make it as smooth as possible. Then, working in sections again, run a flat iron through hair to fully seal the cuticle. Finish off with a light application of the K-PAK Color Therapy Restorative Styling Oil for a high shine, and silky- soft strands.
Now, the makeup: Pair the hair with a polished, glowy look that complements your own skin tone. A warm illuminator under your foundation, or subtle shimmer powder gently brushed over cheekbones will catch the light…and all eyes.
