Try This Low-Maintenance Honey-Brown Look For Fall

A color makeover doesn’t have to be something startlingly different to make a splash in fall. Sometimes, says superstar colorist, Kimberly Navarro of LA’s hot Nine Zero One Salon, it’s about the art of nailing low-maintenance dimensional color…like this gorgeous Honey-Brown look that hit the sweet spot for one happy client. Catch her “Pops and Placement” technique here:

THE ASSIGNMENT:

Like anyone who’s been following the exciting work of this uber-hot LA salon, Kimberly Navarro’s client was a BIG Nine Zero One fan. “It was her dream to have her hair done by us.” The starting point was a warmish light-brown with barely-there highlights; but Kimberly wanted her client’s hair to pop, big-time.

THE CHALLENGE:

“It can be difficult to create a nice balance between transitions — seamlessly and flawlessly melding highlights from the base to the mid-lengths to the ends,” explains Kimberly.

HOW SHE PULLED IT OFF:

“I wanted the best of both worlds — and I achieved that by creating depth at the base, yet still having fun with pop pieces of blonde throughout.”
