WITH JOICO SR. GLOBAL ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, RICHARD MANNAH
Don’t blame the mullet for having an unfortunate name. Especially because the cut itself is getting a spiffed-up reputation – thanks in part to Joico Global Artistic Director, Richard Mannah, who’s modernized the mullet for 2024. Check out his cool and edgy new shape on a vintage favorite….
Let’s describe the look…

Historically known for its short-in-the-front/party-in-the-back shape, Richard has modernized the Mullet with sharp, geometric angles. “The inspiration for this look emerged from a desire to craft a cool and edgy silhouette, accentuated by a square, strong, short fringe. It instills a subtle, futuristic essence; and my model actually served as a muse, guiding the creation of this unique style.” What’s more, Richard explains that the cut picks up on the trending celebrity looks showcased in recent seasons.
“This cut instills a subtle, futuristic essence,” says Richard.
