THE NO-COMMITMENT BOB
With Joico Celebrity Artist, Jill Buck, of 901 Salon
Thinking about taking the plunge, but quaking in your boots at the thought of that big hair hack? (And by hack, we don’t mean easy…we mean scissors!!) Joico Celebrity Artist, Jill Buck, of LA’s Salon Nine Zero One has a brilliant, test-run solution that lets you transform temporarily, without losing even a millimeter of length.
“Sometimes, you just want short hair,” admits Jill. “I love the idea of being able to change my look without it being permanent — or at least a long term decision. And that’s one of my most favorite things about this.” Even better, this styling trick mimics a bob so beautifully, that you can see in an instant if a major haircut would work for you. “It’s so fun…I think everyone should try out this style, especially before you make the big chop,” urges Jill.

The step-by-steps:
“This can be tricky with hair that doesn’t have any layers, so be open to more of a “round” bob shape — like the one I styled on myself,” says Jill of her DIY video.
Apply Hair Shake Finishing Texturizer Spray to dry hair for grip and hold.
Pull hair into a loose, low ponytail, secured by an elastic hair tie.
Leave any face-framing tendrils or bangs free in the front.
Now, add another elastic hair tie a couple inches from the bottom of the ponytail.
Pull the entire ponytail up to the nape, and tuck it under the loose hair above your first elastic.
Use a mini claw clip to discreetly secure it underneath. “Using mini claw clips is a game-changer, because it will help hold the look and is more comfortable than a bunch of bobby pins,” says Jill.
Play with your parting…even flipping loose bangs over to one side if you like.
