SPRING’S “LONG-HAIR” HAIRCUT
WITH JOICO GLOBAL ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, RICHARD MANNAH

Love your length but want something a little fresh, edgy — and not too short! — for spring? Joico Global Artistic Director, Richard Mannah’s got you covered with a versatile face-framing, layered look that delivers the goods. “The layering promotes tons of movement and volume,” he explains. What’s more, it works on any texture hair. (Just make sure your stylist keeps the layers extra-long if your strands are coarse and thick.)
Ask your stylist for this…
Lots of length and long layers throughout for movement, with face-framing tapering at the front.
Bangs should be no shorter than your chin.
How to style it up…
Spray Heat Hero throughout:
This next-generation hair guardian protects your hair from the damage of heat styling, mending split ends and leaving you with a gorgeous sheen.
Curl hair:
Use a large-barrel iron, and alternate your curl pattern (some forward, some backward). After adding a bend to the bangs, curl bangs away from your face.
Comb through to loosen the curls:
Using both fingers and a wide-bristle brush, gently loosen the curls so they become relaxed waves.
Add your desired part:
“The cut is super versatile,” says Richard. “Wear it parted in the center or on the side, wavy or even straight,” says Richard.
Amp up the volume:
Apply Body Shake Texturizing Finishing Spray throughout the layers, scrunching and lifting with your hands as you go.
Add more Heat Hero:
This adds additional shine and control. Comb away stray baby hairs at the bang area with a clean toothbrush.
