Ever wake up and realize yesterday’s curls have basically gone limp? Time for a quick-and-easy fix from hair-rescue expert and Joico Global Brand Storyteller, Olivia Smalley. Her smart 2nd-day hack will save you from having to pull out the curling iron again; it’s right here:

The Care Plan…

Step 1: Check the status of those curls

The remnants of yesterday’s carefully-styled curls are still there; but so is tangled, matted frizz…the aftermath of a good night’s sleep.

Step 2: Give them nourishment

Pull out K-PAK Color Therapy Luster Lock Multi-Perfector Daily Shine & Protect Spray and apply to hair, focusing on mid-lengths to ends.

Step 3: Clear your path

Holding a flat, wire-style brush vertically (the usual horizontal hold will kill whatever’s left of those curls), begin brushing through small sections of hair. Be gentle, please.

Step 4: Offer a drink of water

Fill a spray bottle with H2o and spritz into curled areas.

Step 5: Do NOT apply heat!

To save time – and avoid overdosing on the hassle/damage of re-curling your hair with a heat tool – apply Zero Heat Air Dry Crème. This no-blow-dry formula revives waves with 24-hour humidity protection and major shine, minus stiffness or crunchiness (thanks to hydrating Rosehip Oil and ingredients that deliver flexible, long-lasting hold). Apply to hands, emulsify, then gently smooth it onto hair from ears down. You can apply whatever’s left on your hands to the scalp area.

Step 6: Scrunch time

Step 6: Scrunch time Pull out a clean cotton t-shirt and use it to scrunch hair in an upwards motion. This revives the curl pattern and soaks up excess moisture.

Step 7: Full recovery

Do. Not. Touch. Your. Hair. Instead, allow waves the time to dry and come back to life all on their own. It works…like a miracle!
