SPLIT-SECOND PINK
With Joico Celebrity Artist, Jill Buck, of 901 Salon
Looking for a commitment on Valentine’s Day — but want to keep your options open when it comes to your hair? Joico® Celebrity Artist, Jill Buck, of LA’s Salon Nine Zero One, has a playful idea you’ll LOVE: tinting a Halo Couture Original hair extension piece, so you can pop in a hint of pink…and pop it right out when you’re done. “My clients love to switch it up with fun colors, and this is a perfect way to introduce it without fully committing,” explains Jill, who mixes pink hues for a custom color. (You may want to ask your stylist for help with tinting.)
What’s so easy about Halo Couture? The hair is connected to a “Miracle Wire,” which you simply place on your head like a crown, and hide by pulling the rest of your hair over the nearly invisible string. Jill demos how to attach it – and shows just how easy it is to pull it off at the end of a romantic evening.

The step-by-steps (for you or your stylist)

Step 1: Have your stylist remove the Halo Couture from the box, and tint halfway up with Color Intensity in Blush.
Step 2: Pull a section of crown hair above your ears up and out of the way using a claw clip.
Step 3: Grab the Halo and place over your head (hair in back), so the wire lays just above the occipital bone.
Step 4: Using a comb with a pointy end, pull your own hair up and over the wire to conceal.
Step 5: Release the hair that’s been clipped away and style as usual.
Step 6: Play with fun looks – like pulling hair back with Jill’s silk-blend Everyday Bow.
