To the other reviewer below who said her hair was too greasy after using this...the outside of the tube says the product is for thick, course, dry hair...so that is why you got the result you did....I have thick, coarse and dry hair and it worked great on my hair. Pays to read what is on the bottle. This product made my hair healthy, soft and moist. Love this product.
I have think naturally curly hair which has been looking really dehydrated. The ends are brittle. Did I mention I have heavy blonde highlights with bleach to achieve a white blonde look. The mask I used (some other brand) was discontinued so my hair has just gone down hill since. I tried multiple products to no end to keep my hair healthy. I then tried the Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm and it repaired my brittle ends. My hair is so hydrated and healthy after just 1 use. I left it on for 5 minutes....that is all it took. Please don't ever stop making this product. Added bonus....it smells great and does not weigh my hair down.
This treatment has changed my entire hair life! It gives my hair unbelievably long lasting moisture and normalizes the porosity of my strands!!!!!! The result is hair that feels like PURE SILK! And to top it off, this product smells amazing; I can't describe the scent but it's very original, light, yet intoxicating.
But back to the moisture this provides - it's so intense! Also my hair never shines (NEVER), but it does now! I chemically relax my hair every few months and this keeps it looking and feeling so healthy. I'm so grateful that Joico is dedicated to making top notch products. I'm a Joico user for life; my only regret is not finding it sooner!!
Based on all of the good reviews here, and based on my past experience with the Moisture Recovery shampoo and conditioner, I splashed out the $33 for this. Never have I used a treatment with such terrible results! First, after I got out of the shower and combed my hair, it was severely tangled. Then while blow-drying with my usual heat protectant, I noticed that my hair didn't seem to be getting dry, all the way down the mid-lengths to ends (the part where I had applied the treatment). To my horror, my hair was so gunked up and greasy, it looked and felt greasy and wet despite a longer than usual blow-drying time. I had no choice but to get back in the shower and heavily shampoo my mid-lengths to get it out! I'm giving this treatment one star because the end result *after* re-shampooing and conditioning with a different brand wasn't too bad. This was an expensive purchase for me, so the way that I will make this work will be to shampoo it out after rinsing, as I did today. That way, it does still provide a little moisture without turning me into a gunked-up oil pit. I would say that this treatment is NOT suitable for fine hair, even if your fine hair is dry and damaged!
I used Redken Real Control for years, but they discontinued it. I was desperate. My hair is a wild frizzy nightmare and the Real Control was the most effective I'd found. In my search for a new solution, I have come across many products. The search ended at this Joico treatment balm for thick, coarse hair. I'm so happy that the Redken product was discontinued, because this stuff is extraordinary. You have no idea. I don't even recognize my hair now. Sleek, manageable. Where have you been all my life?
