Glossy Blonde – JULY 2013

July 1, 2013

The Glossy Blonde blogger reviewed Joico’s K-PAK Deep Penetrating Reconstructor and Humidity Blocker. Here is what she had to say:

K-PAK Deep Penetrating Reconstructor: “The consistency is pretty light – a foamy-cream if you will – which gave me the impression that it was not going to do much for my hair. But the moment I applied the Reconstructor, I knew that wouldn’t be the case. The light texture actually aids in distributing the product evenly throughout the hair shaft, and once applied, it instantly smooths and works to get the job done. The scent is also pretty incredible. I love that freshly-washed hair smell. The directions on the bottle say to leave in for 5 minutes, which I did. The timing couldn’t be better – I don’t usually give myself much time in the morning, so to have to sit with a mask on my hair for 20 minutes was just not happening. But again, I wondered if 5 minutes would be enough. It definitely was.  My hair, despite not being blown-dry (or styled, really, at all), was sooooo soft. I kept touching it all day because I couldn’t believe how soft it was. This was also much less weighty than many deep conditioners that I’ve tried. My hair had tons of bounce and life to it – it didn’t get flat at all. It’s now Day 4 since I last washed it and used the Reconstructor, and it still looks great. No greasies!”

Humidity Blocker: “It had been about 95 degrees outside the day before, and was potentially going to be about the same temperature again, so my hair was in for it. I washed and blow-dried with a round brush so I could straighten and pump-up the volume at the same time. I then sprayed the Humidity Blocker to finish and seal in my style, and went on with my day. I have to note – this smells amazing as well. The mist is fine and doesn’t add any weight to the hair at all. It does seem to give my hair a rougher texture, but not enough to make much of a difference. That said, I didn’t get any flyaways or frizz!”
