JOICO VERO K-PAK SPOKESPERSON BETH MINARDI RECEIVES NAHA LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Riding a wave of heartfelt tributes and glowing accolades, hair color icon and Joico Vero K-PAK Spokesperson Beth Minardi received the 2010 North American Hairstyling Awards Lifetime Achievement Award last weekend. Renowned and revered for her skills as a salon owner, color designer and educator, Minardi called her journey "a long and winding and wonderful road." As part of a special video tribute--which also featured Minardi's daughter, friends and members of her staff--Joico Senior Vice President and General Manager Sara Jones noted, "Beth, your knowledge, dedication and mentoring have truly shaped the professional industry as we know it. Everybody at Joico is proud and thrilled to have you, an industry icon, on our team."

During the awards program, held during the North American Hairstyling Awards ceremony in Las Vegas, Minardi was introduced to the audience by a trio of industry notables. Salon owner and eminent educator Sam Brocato kicked off the presentation, telling the audience, "Beth has built a legendary team of colorists that caters to the rich and famous in a successful salon in the toughest city in the world—New York City. She answers every question straight out and she has proven that helping hairdressers to succeed is what truly fills her soul."

Next to step up to the microphone was founder and creative director of Behindthechair.com Mary Rector Gable, who told the audience, "Beth taught me that some of us are given a gift that is so pure and real that we’re willing to sacrifice our lives to share that gift with others. Beth, you have sacrificed your life for the sake of every colorist in the world because you believed you could make their lives better with your gift." And Modern Salon Media Fashion and Beauty Director Maggie Mulhern announced, "When you speak, Beth, people listen."

Then it was time for Beth to speak. "In the past few years, it is hair color that has kept the industry together," she declared. She continued, "I am humble to be here and excited about the fact that working with Joico is the beginning of my next 'chapter.' She concluded, "Every day, I’m so lucky to walk into my salon, go through to the color room, look at all of the clients sitting there and think, 'This is my opportunity to make each and every one of those women look and feel beautiful.'"
