JOICO HAIR COLOR EARNS ECO PACKAGING AWARD

Joico recently earned a prestigious award for its green-minded hair color packaging. The Paperboard Packaging Council honored the company with its Eco Excellence Award for its recycled Joico Vero K-PAK Color and ISO i.Color and i.Luminate hair color cartons. The award was part of the 67th Annual National Paperboard Packaging Competition, the industry's premier showcase for all that is new and outstanding in paperboard packaging, design and technology.

According to Zotos Vice President of Operations Anthony Perdigao, the judges evaluate the competition entries in three key areas: environmental (sustainability, use of recycled and reusable materials, clean production processes); economic (efficiency of production, optimized reductions of materials and energy) and social (safety and health enhancement, responsibility.) "We are exceptionally proud of this distinction," notes Perdigao. "For some time now, our eco-initiatives at Zotos, Joico and ISO have been comprehensive and wide-ranging, with emphases on electricity and water conservation, recycling, increased efficiencies in materials sourcing and transportation and the development of a revolutionary new on-site wind power program.
