Renowned fashion and celebrity stylist Frank Galasso has a reputation for creating and mastering trends, earning him an extensive clientele of A-list celebrities and top Hollywood insiders. "People come to me because they know that I can give them a look that's hipper and more fashion forward than what they're used to," says the former model and Australian transplant.
At only 15, Galasso's artistic aptitude and elan won him coveted apprenticeships with Australia's top hair stylists. Shortly after turning 20, Galasso traded Melbourne for Milan and landed a dream job with the legendary Gianni Versace heading up his runway design team. On a work trip to Los Angeles, Galasso fell in love with the city and made it his home, soon becoming one Tinseltown's premiere colorists and stylists.
In 1999, Galasso opened Frank.Studio, an airy, contemporary beauty Mecca nestled in a swanky Santa Monica art gallery enclave, which has twice been named "Best Salon" (2007 and 2009) by industry bible Allure. The 5,000-square-foot space is replete with concrete floors and stainless steel accents, and original Warhol prints line the towering walls.
Always in demand, Galasso juggles salon clients with commercial, music video and photo shoots, while helping celebrities look beautiful for the red carpet. Elle magazine has called Galasso as one of the world's top hairdressers; his work has appeared in Interview, GQ, Maxim, Los Angeles, Teen, and in high-fashion campaigns for Target and Cingular Wireless.
